The Yorkville Ledger

The daily read for Yorkville, NYC

Privacy Policy & Editorial Standards

The short version: we collect your email address to send you the newsletter you asked for, we never sell or share it, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. The longer version follows.

What we collect and why

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, and only your email address, through a double opt-in flow: you receive a confirmation email and are only subscribed once you click it. The list is stored with Brevo, our email service provider, and used solely to send you The Yorkville Ledger. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your address with anyone, including sponsors. Sponsors never receive reader data — they see aggregate numbers only (subscriber count, open and click totals).

Website analytics

When enabled, our site analytics are cookieless and privacy-preserving (GoatCounter or Cloudflare Web Analytics): no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal profiles, no consent banner needed because there is nothing to consent to. Emails contain standard delivery analytics (opens and link clicks) provided by Brevo, which we use to judge what content serves readers.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. To have your address deleted entirely from our systems (not just unsubscribed), email us and we will confirm deletion within 10 days. California residents: we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA; the rights described here (access, deletion) are available to all readers regardless of state.

Editorial standards

Every item we publish traces to a real, cited source, and we link to original publishers rather than reproducing their work. AI involvement in producing the Ledger is disclosed on the site, on the About page, and in every email. Our 'Talk of the Neighborhood' section covers businesses, buildings, and public figures from public sources only — never private individuals, never unverified rumor. Sponsored placements are always labeled, and sponsorship never buys or shields coverage.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly on the site and note the correction in the next edition. Send corrections or retraction requests in writing to our contact address; they are reviewed against the source record, not vibes.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the newsletter. Questions, data requests, and corrections: use the contact link in the site footer.
